IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 99- 019 (1076) <br /> AN URGENCY ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE 10 <br /> AND ADDING ARTICLE 10 TO CHAPTER 5 <br /> OF TITLE VII OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE, <br /> ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE POST - DISASTER <br /> SAFETY ASSESSMENT PLACARDS, AS AMENDED, <br /> AND MAKING THIS MATTER AN URGENCY MEASURE TO TAKE <br /> EFFECT JULY 1, 1999, PURSUANT TO SECTION 1-1-345 (f) and (b) OF <br /> THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE BECAUSE IT RELATES TO PARTICULAR <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW PRESCRIBING THE MANNER OF ITS PASSAGE AND <br /> ADOPTION AND FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION OF THE PUBLIC PEACE, <br /> HEALTH OR SAFETY <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1.Article 10 Title VII, Chapter 5 of the San Leandro <br /> Municipal Code is hereby deleted. <br /> Section 2.Article 10 is hereby added to Chapter 5 of Title VII of <br /> the San Leandro Municipal Code to read as follows: <br /> "ARTICLE 10. SAFETY ASSESSMENT PLACARDS <br /> Section 7 -5 -1000: Intent. This Article establishes <br /> standard placards to be used to indicate the condition of a <br /> structure for continued occupancy. The Article further authorizes <br /> the Building Official and his or her authorized representatives <br /> to post the appropriate placard at each entry point to a building <br /> or structure upon completion of a safety assessment. <br /> Section 7 -5 -1005: APPLICATION OF PROVISIONS. The <br /> provisions of this Article are applicable to all buildings and <br /> structures of all occupancies regulated by the City of San <br /> Leandro. <br /> Section 7 -5 -1010: DEFINITIONS. Safety assessment is a <br /> visual, non - destructive examination of a building or structure <br /> for the purpose of determining the condition for continued <br /> occupancy. <br /> 1 <br />
