• <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> CONTRACT <br /> THIS CONTRACT, is made and entered into as of this 30 day of August, 2000, between <br /> the COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, CITY OF FREMONT, and the CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, <br /> hereinafter referred to as PARTICIPATING PUBLIC JURISDICTIONS (PPJs). <br /> WITNES SETH <br /> WHEREAS, the. PARTICIPATING PUBLIC JURISDICTIONS recognize the need for <br /> transitional housing to serve homeless families in southern Alameda County; and. <br /> WHEREAS, the P ARTICIPATING PUBLIC JURISDICTIONS all have allocated funds from <br /> their respective Community Development Block Grant and HOME programs and/or other programs <br /> in order to fund the acquisition and rehabilitation of such housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, the PARTICIPATING PUBLIC JURISDICTIONS recognize the desirability <br /> and efficiency of coordinating their efforts in order to monitor the provision of and to fund the <br /> rehabilitation of transitional housing to serve homeless families in southern Alameda county; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto do mutually contract as follows: <br /> 1. The parties to this contract agree to jointly fund the acquisition and rehabilitation of a former <br /> convalescent home for use as transitional housing for homeless families. This housing will <br /> be located on the property generally described as 21568 Banyan Street, Hayward in the <br /> unincorporated Cherryland District of Alameda County, more specifically described in Exhibit <br /> A. <br /> 2. Title to this property acquired in whole or in part under this Agreement shall vest in Family <br /> Emergency Shelter Coalition ( FESCO) subject to the condition that FESCO shall use the real <br /> property for the authorized purpose of the project stated above. <br /> 3. FESCO shall retain property acquired with funds under this agreement as long as there is a <br /> need for such property. Recognizing that the need may change, FESCO shall request <br /> disposition instructions from the PPJs subject to the conditions of the regulatory agreement. <br /> The PPJs shall consult each other on, and have joint approval of, all proposed disposition{ <br /> and/or changes of use. <br /> 4. The County of Alameda will contribute $200,000 in CDBG Affordable Housing Funds and <br /> $175,000 in Urban County HOME funds to FESCO for the acquisition and rehabilitation of <br /> the facility. <br />
