Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A COMMUNICATIONS SITE LEASE WITH CLEAR <br />WIRELESS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A WIRELESS <br />COMMUNICATION SITE AT THE MARINA COMMUNITY CENTER. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of a contract with Clear Wireless to allow the development of a <br />wireless communications site at the Marina Community Center. The agreement will be for a <br />period of ten years and will be renewed for four additional five -year terms unless either party <br />elects to terminate the agreement. The City will receive a total of approximately $309,500 in <br />lease payments from Clear Wireless during the initial ten -year period. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Over the past several months, staff has worked with Clear Wireless on a proposed wireless tower <br />site lease on the roof of the Marina Community Center. Clear Wireless is prepared to enter into <br />a site lease agreement with the City and will work with the Community Development <br />Department and Public Works Department to design the site. <br />The proposed lease would be for a term of ten years, with a monthly rental fee of $2,250 for the <br />first year, increasing by 3% each year after that. The lease will be renewed for up to four <br />additional five -year periods under the same terms unless one or both parties elects to terminate <br />the lease. <br />The actual site of the equipment will be subject to review and approval by the Public Works <br />Department. Clear Wireless has submitted an application, site plans, and photo simulations for <br />the proposed site; however, final approval of the site is conditional, based on the City Council's <br />approval of the site lease agreement. <br />
