Hollister <br /> TO: Stephen Hollister, City Manager City Manager <br /> FROM: Michael Bakaldin, Public Works Director - <br /> BY: Debbie Pollan, Facilities & Open Space Manager <br /> SUBJECT PROJECT /PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br /> PRESENTATION OF SAN LEANDRO MARINA HARBOR BASIN ALTERNATIVES <br /> STUDY <br /> SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> • This report provides information on the availability of the final San Leandro Marina Harbor <br /> Basin Alternatives Study, which will be discussed at the City Council Work Session on March <br /> 21, 2011. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In October 2010, the City Council approved a Consultant Services Agreement with ESA for <br /> preparation of a Harbor Basin Alternatives Study, with the cost of the report to be split evenly <br /> with Cal -Coast Development. <br /> The intent of the report is to assist the City in determining what types of uses would be <br /> appropriate for the Marina Harbor Basin, should the City permanently discontinue dredging the <br /> basin and entrance channel. <br /> The report methodology and content was discussed and prepared over three separate <br /> collaborative meetings between ESA, City staff and Cal - Coast. During this time frame, <br /> preliminary concepts were brought forward and reviewed by the Shoreline - Marina Citizens <br /> Advisory Committee (CAC), by the public at two town hall meetings held in November, and <br /> with the City Council at a December work session. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> ESA has issued the final San Leandro Marina Harbor Basin Alternatives Study. A hard copy is <br /> available for review at the City Clerk's office. The document is also available electronically for <br /> review or downloading via the City's website at the link shown below. <br /> Staff will be presenting the findings from the study to the City Council at a special work session, <br /> scheduled for 5:30 PM on Monday, March 21 in the City Council Chambers. <br />
