Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH EAST BAY MUNICIPAL <br />UTILITY DISTRICT FOR CHABOT PARK. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of the lease agreement between the City of San Leandro and East <br />Bay Municipal Utility District (District) for the park area at Lake Chabot Regional Recreation <br />Area known as Chabot Park. <br />The lease allows the City to continue to lease the park, as the City has since 1981, to provide <br />recreational services and opportunities for our citizens. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City first entered into a License Agreement for Chabot Park with the District in 1981. Since <br />then, the lease has been extended a number of times. This latest agreement is for the period from <br />July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2016. The cost to the City for this extension is a one -time fee of $2,000. <br />Chabot Park, like all of our parks, is highly used by the public. It is also a "beloved" park in San <br />Leandro, as the Chabot Day Camp has been held there for decades. <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />Policy 22.09: Use long -term leases to share open space with other owners in a cost effective <br />manner. <br />
