Continued Discussion Regarding the Instrument Landing System at North Field <br /> City Manager John Jermanis gave an overview of the issues regarding the instrument landing <br /> system (ILS) as it relates to the Settlement Agreement between the Port of Oakland and the <br /> City. He summarized the community's concerns as saying some believe it will increase <br /> capacity at the North Field. The purpose of the discussion was to help the Committee <br /> understand the aspects of the issue. <br /> Committee Member Nardine referred to the July 15, 2004 letter from Aviation Director Steve <br /> Grossman which responded to a number of questions from the City. The correspondence <br /> used a number of technical terms and made references to different studies and agreements. <br /> Committee Member Nardine suggested that a chronological list of the airport's plans, EIRs <br /> and various agreements would help to clarify issues. <br /> Carole Wedl from the airport's Noise and Environmental Compliance Office answered a <br /> number of the Committee Member's questions. One question in particular had to do with an <br /> Airfield Planning Report that was prepared in 2001 which made reference to potential new <br />
