IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -017 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORWARD THE CITY'S <br /> SELECTED AND APPROVED AESTHETIC FEATURES AS SHOWN IN ATTACHMENTS <br /> 2A AND 2B FOR THE MARINA BOULEVARD AND DAVIS STREET (STATE ROUTE (SR) <br /> 112)/1 -880 INTERCHANGES IN SAN LEANDRO FOR THE I -880 SOUTHBOUND HOV <br /> PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the portion of Interstate 880 (1 -880) through San Leandro is currently planned <br /> to be improved with the addition of a southbound HOV lane from the northem San Leandro border <br /> to just south of the Marina Boulevard - Marina Automall Interchange passing through the Davis <br /> Street Interchange, which is being primarily financed by the Corridor Mobility Improvement <br /> Program of the State Infrastructure Bond Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) has <br /> designed, and Caltrans intends to construct, the new I- 880/Marina Boulevard -Manna Automall <br /> Interchange and the new I- 880/Davis Street (SR112) Interchange; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City recognizes the special circumstance and the singular opportunity for <br /> implementing the General Plan's goal of providing gateway features at these major entrances into <br /> the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Alameda CTC and Caltrans require the City of San Leandro to select and <br /> approve the aesthetics for said Interchanges; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, the Facilities and Transportation Committee, San Leandro <br /> residents and staff have provided input on the aesthetic features; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended approval of said aesthetic features. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. That said aesthetic features as indicated in Attachments 2A and 2B, or substantially in <br /> the form presented, are hereby approved and submittal by the City Manager is hereby authorized; <br /> and <br /> 2. That the City Manager is authorized to make non - substantial revisions to said aesthetic <br /> features; and <br /> 3. That the Attachments 2A and 2B shall be attached to and made a part of this resolution. <br />
