MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> MAY 16, 1994 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in Regular Session in the City <br /> Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Corbett <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Commendation to the Key Club at San Leandro High School . Individual <br /> Certificates of Commendation will be presented to Jeffrey Shu, Mitch <br /> White, Patrick Johnson, Lisa Dalrymple, Sean Johnson, Bruce Hennings, <br /> Jeff McGallian, Chad Pennebaker, and Chris Miller. <br /> The City Clerk read the Commendation. Mayor Corbett said Key Club <br /> members participate in many activities in the community, such as the <br /> Creek Cleanup, the Pre-School Pumpkin Festival , and the Special <br /> Olympics. <br /> Chris Miller of the Key Club said 28 San Leandro High School students <br /> attended the convention last month and the Club members won a total of <br /> five trophies. She thanked the kids who participate in the Club and <br /> all of the adult advisors and said this is an awesome group of kids. <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. <br /> A. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, said the May 2 and May 9 Minutes <br /> did not answer his question regarding the Block Grant. He said the <br /> answer to his question was that it was not similar to the gas tax and <br /> it was permissive, not mandatory. He asked if the Committee to Study <br /> City Boards and Commissions would be hand-picked and whether it was in <br /> reference to a Chamber of Commerce request for a Blue Panel Committee. <br /> Mayor Corbett said it would be an ad hoc committee of the City Council <br /> appointed by the Mayor to discuss commissions in general , the <br /> possibility of combining commissions, and the issue of having more <br /> people involved in commissions. <br />
