Continued to September 20, 1994 <br /> Meeting. <br /> 8:00 P.M. REGULAR MEETING -- City Council Chambers <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> None <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br /> to make any comments related to Agenda items (including San Leandro <br /> Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Parking Authority, and San Leandro <br /> Industrial Development Authority) or other items of public interest at this <br /> time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be heard during the <br /> Public Hearing portion of the Agenda. <br /> A. John Gonsalves, 744 Joaquin Avenue, expressed concern regarding a <br /> newspaper article which said Bancroft Middle School would no longer <br /> have students recite the Pledge of Allegiance. He said our flag is our <br /> heritage and, if this story is true, he would not vote for the school <br /> bond issue. City Manager Mike Oliver said he had spoken to the <br /> Superintendent of Schools who said the newspaper did not give an <br /> accurate representation of what is happening at the school . <br />
