MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> APRIL 6, 1992 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Presentation of Check to the City by the Optimist Club of San Leandro <br /> to Help Defray Costs for the Shoreline Run. Minnie Malloy, President <br /> of the Optimist Club of San Leandro, presented a check from the Club <br /> for $1,000 to help defray the costs of the Shoreline Run. Mayor Karp <br /> accepted the check and expressed the City's appreciation for this <br /> donation and for the support of the Optimist Club. <br /> B. Presentation of Proclamation to Johanna Sorensen, San Leandro <br /> Dispatcher of the Year, in Recognition of the San Leandro Public Safety <br /> Dispatchers and National Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week, April <br /> 12-18, 1992. Mayor Karp read the Proclamation and said the Public <br /> Safety Dispatchers provide a vital link between the public and <br /> emergency services. He said their work has a significant impact on all <br /> people in the City and it is right to recognize them for their <br /> diligence and efficiency. Johanna Sorensen thanked the City Council on <br /> behalf of the Dispatchers. <br /> C. Presentation of Proclamation to Magda Calderon, on Behalf of the State <br /> of California Employment Development Department, Regarding National <br /> "Employ the Older Worker Week, " March 29-April 4, 1992, Urging All <br /> Employers to Give Special Consideration to the Skills and <br /> Qualifications of Men and Women 40 Years of Age and Older. Mayor Karp <br /> read the Proclamation. Magda Calderon thanked the City Council on <br /> behalf of older workers everywhere. <br />
