MINUTES SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 6, 1992 The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp presiding. 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG 3. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; Mayor Karp ABSENT: None 4. PRESENTATIONS A. Presentation of Check to the City by the Optimist Club of San Leandro to Help Defray Costs for the Shoreline Run. Minnie Malloy, President of the Optimist Club of San Leandro, presented a check from the Club for $1,000 to help defray the costs of the Shoreline Run. Mayor Karp accepted the check and expressed the City's appreciation for this donation and for the support of the Optimist Club. B. Presentation of Proclamation to Johanna Sorensen, San Leandro Dispatcher of the Year, in Recognition of the San Leandro Public Safety Dispatchers and National Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week, April 12-18, 1992. Mayor Karp read the Proclamation and said the Public Safety Dispatchers provide a vital link between the public and emergency services. He said their work has a significant impact on all people in the City and it is right to recognize them for their diligence and efficiency. Johanna Sorensen thanked the City Council on behalf of the Dispatchers. C. Presentation of Proclamation to Magda Calderon, on Behalf of the State of California Employment Development Department, Regarding National "Employ the Older Worker Week, " March 29-April 4, 1992, Urging All Employers to Give Special Consideration to the Skills and Qualifications of Men and Women 40 Years of Age and Older. Mayor Karp read the Proclamation. Magda Calderon thanked the City Council on behalf of older workers everywhere.
