PUBLIC COMMENTS
Glenn Hilton, President of Best Manor Homeowners Association, Inc. , said
his Association would like to put additional yellow ribbons on East 14th
Street up to Toler Avenue.
There was considerable discussion regarding interest in yellow-ribbon
programs throughout the community. Mayor Karp noted that Whitey Harter had
called him and said he wanted to do something to show his patriotism and that
he was willing to buy flags for East 14th Street. Council Member Glaze noted
that the City had purchased flags a few years ago for East 14th Street and
asked that the City Manager see where those flags are and if they could be
.put up on East 14th Street.
Ellen Geis, President of Estudillo Homeowners Association, asked, if she
could find people who are willing to put up yellow ribbons, would the City
give permission for them to do so. It was suggested that all homeowners'
groups or residents interested in putting up yellow ribbons or flags contact
the City Manager's Office to coordinate their proposals.
Council Member Corbett noted that the Kiwanis Club had also volunteered to
put yellow ribbons up along East 14th Street.
Council Member Perry suggested that the yellow-ribbon idea be taken to the
Associated Homeowners Association, Inc. , and that all homeowners' groups who
are interested coordinate through the City Manager's Office. The City
Council concurred.
5. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. The minutes of the meeting of January 22, 1991 were approved.
