• MINUTES SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 18, 1991 The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp presiding. 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG 3. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; Mayor Karp ABSENT: None 4. PRESENTATIONS A. Presentation by Girls, Inc. , Returning the Building at 147th Avenue, Which Was Leased to Girls, Inc. , in 1985, to the City of San Leandro, and Expressing Appreciation for the City's Support. Pat Loomis, Executive Director of Girls, Inc. , thanked the City Council for their support of the Girls Club over the years. She said the Girls Club had moved to its permanent quarters at 13666 East 14th Street. She said the City had given a small house to the Soroptimists in 1958, which later became the Girls Club and then Girls, Inc. She said the Club now serves over 1 ,200 people and has a staff of 20. She noted the improvements that had been made to the City's building and formally returned the building to the City and presented the City Council with a plaque expressing appreciation. Mayor Karp said it has been a pleasure working with the Girls Club and the City will continue to do anything it can to assist the Club. 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS A. Dick Marshall , 15014 Wengate Street, spoke regarding the Resolution appointing Mike Oliver as Acting City Manager. He said this implies there will be a search which will cost the City money. He said Mr. Oliver knows the job and should be appointed City Manager. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR A. The minutes of the meeting of November 4, 1991 were approved as submitted.
