San Leandro, California, April 2, 1990 The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country, Vice Mayor Perry presiding. PRESENT: Council Members Faria, Glaze, Jardin, Santos, Suchman; Vice Mayor Perry EXCUSED: Mayor Karp Mayor Karp was in Washington D.C. testifying before the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations, Subcommittees on Energy and Water. MINUTES: The minutes of the meeting of March 19, 1990 were approved as amended. PRESENTATIONS: a. Vice Mayor Perry presented a Proclamation to Judy Bowlby, San Leandro's Dispatcher of the Year, proclaiming April 8-14, 1990, as National Telecommunications Week. Judy thanked the City Council and accepted the Proclamation on behalf of all of the San Leandro Dispatchers. b. Presentation of Proclamation declaring April Earthquake Preparedness Month. Vice Mayor Perry presented a Proclamation declaring April as Earthquake Preparedness Month to Fire Chief Cole. She noted the diligent work being done by Chief Cole and his staff on the Disaster Preparedness Plan for the City of San Leandro. RESOLUTIONS: On motion of Council Member Jardin, seconded by Council Member Santos, with Council Member Faria abstaining, the Resolution Approving the Standards for Design and Construction of Ground-Mounted TV Cable Facilities was continued to the April 16, 1990 City Council Meeting. RESOLUTION NO. 90-41 (2644) RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT TO 0. C. JONES AND SONS AND AUTHORIZATION OF CHANGE ORDER, FOR 139TH AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS - WASHINGTON AVENUE TO WEST END OF 139TH AVENUE PROJECT NO. 89-8804 Introduced by Council Member Faria who moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Suchman and carried by the following called vote: AYES: Council Members Faria, Glaze, Jardin, Santos, Suchman; Vice Mayor Perry ( 6 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: Mayor Karp ( 1 )
