San Leandro, California, May 7, 1990 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. The meeting <br /> was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country, Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> MINUTES: <br /> The minutes of the meeting of April 16, 1990 were approved as amended. <br /> The minutes of the meeting of April 17, 1990 were approved as submitted. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> a. Letter from Eleanor Bolesworth, Secretary of the San Leandro Dahlia Society, <br /> Requesting $750 for Annual Dahlia Show and for Maintenance of the Dahlia <br /> Gardens was referred to the budget process. <br /> b. Letter from Lawrence Kohl , Director of the Chamber Orchestra of San Leandro, <br /> Requesting a Grant from the Community Promotions Program in the Amount of <br /> $5,000 for the 1990-91 Concert Season was referred to the budget process. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS FROM BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: <br /> a. Letter from Recreation and Parks Commission Recommending Approval of a <br /> Permanent Maintenance Agreement with the 82nd Airborne Association for the <br /> Veterans' Memorial at Siempre Verde Park. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 90-70 (1028/2323) <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT <br /> WITH 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION ASSOCIATION <br /> FOR VETERANS' MEMORIAL AT SIEMPRE VERDE PARK <br /> Introduced by Council Member Perry who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Glaze and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> b. Letter from Library-Historical Commission Recommending Modifications to the <br /> Library's Meeting Room Guidelines. On motion of Council Member Corbett, <br /> seconded by Council Member Perry and carried unanimously, the San Leandro <br /> Community Library Meeting Room Guidelines and Fee Schedule were approved, <br /> as recommended by the Library-Historical Commission to the City Council in <br /> its letter of April 26, 1990. <br />
