San Leandro, California, July 16, 1990 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. The meeting <br /> was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country, Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> MINUTES: <br /> The minutes of the meeting of July 2, 1990 were approved as amended, with the <br /> inclusion of information related to paper recycling boxes used in other cities, <br /> as described by Council Member Perry. <br /> PRESENTATIONS: <br /> a. Presentation of Plaques to 1990 Cherry Festival King and Queen Glenn and Bee <br /> Hilton and Cherry Festival Princess Jeanie Sale. Mayor Karp presented the <br /> plaques. <br /> b. Presentation of Check from the City of San Leandro to the Chamber Orchestra <br /> of San Leandro. Mayor Karp presented a check for $5,000 to Lawrence Kohl <br /> and Jack Goodrich as financial support for the Chamber Orchestra's 1990-91 <br /> Season. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> a. Letter from Christine Scobee Regarding Dumping at City of Oakland's Chabot <br /> 1 Municipal Golf Course. The City Manager summarized the report of the <br /> Department of Fish and Game's sample testing of the San Leandro Creek and <br /> noted that there was no contamination. The City will continue to follow up <br /> this matter with the City of Oakland. <br /> b. Letter from Russ Elliott, Inc. , Regarding Building Division Procedures. The <br /> City Manager explained that the City is streamlining its Building Division <br /> procedures. We will continue to follow up to assure that the public is <br /> served. <br /> c. Letter from Lawrence Cappuccio, Regarding Continuing Problems with the Alta <br /> Mira Club. Mayor Karp discussed the problems with the Alta Mira Club and <br /> suggested that residents contact the City when problems are occurring. <br />
