San Leandro, California, July 16, 1990 The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country, Mayor Karp presiding. PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; Mayor Karp ABSENT: None MINUTES: The minutes of the meeting of July 2, 1990 were approved as amended, with the inclusion of information related to paper recycling boxes used in other cities, as described by Council Member Perry. PRESENTATIONS: a. Presentation of Plaques to 1990 Cherry Festival King and Queen Glenn and Bee Hilton and Cherry Festival Princess Jeanie Sale. Mayor Karp presented the plaques. b. Presentation of Check from the City of San Leandro to the Chamber Orchestra of San Leandro. Mayor Karp presented a check for $5,000 to Lawrence Kohl and Jack Goodrich as financial support for the Chamber Orchestra's 1990-91 Season. CORRESPONDENCE: a. Letter from Christine Scobee Regarding Dumping at City of Oakland's Chabot 1 Municipal Golf Course. The City Manager summarized the report of the Department of Fish and Game's sample testing of the San Leandro Creek and noted that there was no contamination. The City will continue to follow up this matter with the City of Oakland. b. Letter from Russ Elliott, Inc. , Regarding Building Division Procedures. The City Manager explained that the City is streamlining its Building Division procedures. We will continue to follow up to assure that the public is served. c. Letter from Lawrence Cappuccio, Regarding Continuing Problems with the Alta Mira Club. Mayor Karp discussed the problems with the Alta Mira Club and suggested that residents contact the City when problems are occurring.
