• <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, <br /> THE ALAMEDA COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT <br /> AND THE <br /> SAN LEANDRO FIREFIGHTER'S ASSOCIATION <br /> REGARDING THE CONSOLIDATION OF THE SAN LEANDRO AND <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> This Agreement is dated for identification this 1st day of July 1995, is entered into <br /> between the City of San Leandro, a municipal corporation ("City"), the Alameda County Fire <br /> Department (ACFD), and the San Leandro Firefighter's Association, Local 55, an <br /> unincorporated association ("SLFFA"). <br /> Recitals <br /> A. City currently provides fire suppression, emergency medical response and related <br /> services ("fire services") to the residents of the City of San Leandro, through the San Leandro <br /> Fire Department. <br /> B. City currently employs approximately 82 employees in the classifications of Firefighter, <br /> Fire Engineer, Fire Inspector, Fire Captain, Senior Fire Inspector and Assistant Fire Marshal <br /> ("Fire Employees"). All references herein to "Fire Employees" shall mean those employees <br /> of the City in such classifications on the date preceding the effective date of the Master <br /> Agreement who become employees of Department on such date. <br /> C. City has recognized the SLFFA as the recognized employee organization for the Fire <br /> Employees. City and SLFFA are parties to a Memorandum of Understanding ("City MOU"). <br /> D. City and Department are parties to an agreement entitled "Fire Protection and <br /> Emergency Medical Service Agreement" ("Master Agreement") entered into on July 1 , 1995. <br /> E. Pursuant to the Master Agreement, Department shall provide fire services to residents <br /> of City commencing July 1 , 1995 ("Effective Date"), and Department shall offer employment <br /> to Fire Employees as of said date. Department's agreement to provide fire services and to <br /> employ the Fire Employees may be referenced as the "consolidation." <br /> F. Department is party to two memoranda of understandings with the Alameda County <br /> Firefighter's Association, Local 1428 ("Local 1428"). One is for the period January 1, 1994 <br /> through December 31, 1996 ("County MOU") and is applicable to County classifications of <br /> Firefighter, Fire Engineer, Fire Inspector and Fire Captain. The second MOU is for the period <br /> January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1995 (County MOU - Management") and is applicable <br /> to County classifications of Battalion Chief and Fire Marshal II, which are comparable to City <br /> classifications of Senior Fire Inspector and Assistant Fire Marshall. <br /> 1 <br />
