City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: October 5, 2015 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:15-527 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.I. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for a Resolution Approving Amendments to the City of San <br />Leandro Biennial Budget for the Marina Boulevard Streetscape Project and <br />the Police Building and South Office Modification Project <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends City Council approve amending the current two year budget to fund the <br />Marina Boulevard Streetscape Improvement, Conceptual Design Project $542,000 in 2015-16 <br />instead of 2016-17, and defer appropriation for the Police Building and South Office <br />Modification Project $542,000 from 2015-16 to 2016-17. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The adopted biennial budget appropriates funding for the subject projects as follows: <br />Marina Boulevard Streetscape Improvement, Conceptual Design: <br />2015-16 appropriation $0 <br />2016-17 appropriation $542,000 <br />Police Building and South Office Modification: <br />2015-16 appropriation $750,000 <br />2016-17 appropriation $1,574,983 <br />Total biennial appropriation $2,324,983 <br />Analysis <br />The Marina Boulevard Streetscape Improvement, Conceptual Design project is funded by a <br />$542,000 appropriation in 2016-17. This project will develop an outline of improvements to <br />the 30% design level and the associated cost for the Marina Boulevard corridor to transform it <br />into a gateway to the San Leandro Shoreline Area.
