IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017-022 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN <br />AMENDMENT TO THE CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br />TOWNSEND PUBLIC AFFAIRS FOR STATE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY <br />SERVICES, TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT THROUGH JUNE 30, <br />2018 AT THE SAME RATE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 ANNUALLY <br />WHEREAS on February 18, 2014, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter <br />into a one-year agreement for $60,000 between the City of San Leandro and Townsend Public <br />Affairs, for the provision of state level advocacy services; and <br />WHEREAS on February 17, 2015, and February 16, 2016 the City Council directed the <br />City Manager to extend that agreement for an additional year of services at the same rate; and <br />WHEREAS, for the past year, Townsend Public Affairs provided the City Council with <br />excellent service representing the City of San Leandro's interests at the State level; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to extend the term of its existing agreement with <br />Townsend Public Affairs through June 30, 2018 at the same rate, in an amount not to exceed <br />$60,000; and <br />WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said amendment to the agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City <br />Manager is hereby authorized. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Cox, and passed and adopted this 21 st day of February, <br />2017, by the following vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Ballew, Cox, Hernandez, Lee, Lopez, Thomas; <br />Mayor Cutter (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ATTEST: <br />Tamika . reenwood, City Clerk <br />
