City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: April 16, 2018 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:18-160 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.F. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />Interim City Manager <br />BY:Jeff Kay <br />Interim City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for a Resolution Approving an Annual Renewal with SirsiDynix for <br />Library Information System in an Amount not to Exceed $77,143.83 <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve a resolution authorizing the City Manager to <br />execute an annual subscription renewal with SirsiDynix for software at the Library Department. <br />The annual renewal cost is $77,143.83. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of San Leandro has maintained an annual subscription contract with SirsiDynix for its <br />Library Information System (LIS) since 2005. <br />Analysis <br />The City of San Leandro subscribes to the SirsiDynix library information system, which is hosted <br />by SirsiDynix and delivered over the Internet. This Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) system provides <br />all of the core applications required to maintain the Library Department’s operations, such as: <br />inventory management; account management, self-check-out, online content, and more. <br />The City pays an annual subscription for the various systems. In addition, SirsiDynix provides <br />software updates and technical support. This annual renewal is for all licenses required by Staff to <br />fully use the software. <br />Legal Analysis <br />The City Attorney’s office has reviewed and approved the purchase agreements. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 4/10/2018 <br />63
