City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: May 7, 2018 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:18-137 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.I. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />Interim City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for a Resolution to Approve a Consulting Services Agreement with <br />Glass Architects in an Amount Not to Exceed $306,310 for Preparation of <br />Construction-Ready Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for the Family Aquatic <br />Center Competition Pool Project, Project No. 2018.0170, and an Amendment to <br />the City of San Leandro Budget for the Family Aquatics Center Competition Pool <br />Project and Farrelly Pool Replacement Project <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />This contract provides for the design, permitting, and preparation of bid documents for the <br />addition of a new competition pool and expansion of the parking lot at the existing Family <br />Aquatics Center at Washington Manor Park. <br />Staff recommends the following actions: <br />·Approval of a Consulting Services Agreement (CSA) with Glass Architects for an amount <br />not to exceed $306,310; <br />·Authorization for the City Manager to Negotiate and Approve Individual Change Orders Up <br />to 10% (or $30,631) of the Contract Amount; <br />·Authorization for the City Manager to Negotiate and Approve Cumulative Change Orders <br />up to 25% ($76,578) of the Contract Amount; <br />·Amendment of the current two year budget to shift $200,000 in funding from 2018-19 to <br />2017-18 for the Family Aquatics Center Competition Pool Project; and <br />·Amendment of the current two year budget to shift $200,000 in funding from 2017-18 to <br />2018-19 for the Farrelly Pool Replacement Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Family Aquatics Center at Washington Manor Park opened to the public in 2007 and was <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 5/1/2018 <br />1482
