City of San Leandro <br />City Council <br />Meeting Date: July 21, 2025 <br />Agenda Number: 5.a. <br />Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />File Number: 25-334 <br />File Type: Staff Report <br />Second Reading of Ordinance No. 2025-010 to Amend Chapter 4-19 of the Municipal Code to Modify <br />Regulations Pertaining to San Leandro Waterways and to Repeal Reach Code Amendments for <br />All-Electric Buildings <br />COUNCIL PRIORITY <br />·Public Safety <br />·Quality of Life <br />SUMMARY <br />On July 7, 2025, the City Council voted 7-0 to introduce the First Reading of Ordinance No. <br />2025-010 to amend Chapter 4-19 of the Municipal Code to modify regulations pertaining to San <br />Leandro waterways and to repeal Reach Code amendments for all-electric buildings that have <br />been judicially preempted. A second reading is required to adopt the above-referenced <br />ordinance, which would become effective 30 days after adoption. <br />In the motion to introduce the Ordinance, the City Council removed proposed Zoning Code and <br />Municipal Code amendments related to tobacco retailing and oversized vehicle parking to <br />provide time for additional outreach.
