Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />City Attorney Jayne Williams reported that the City Council met in closed session <br />earlier this evening. By a unanimous vote, the Council authorized the City Attorney and <br />City Manager on behalf of the City to enter into a joint prosecution, common interest <br />and privilege agreement along with the cities of Alameda and Oakland, the East Bay <br />Regional Park District, the Port of Oakland and the County of Alameda in connection <br />with the proposed casino-hotel project being developed in the City of Oakland. <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Mayor Young stated that she had previously reported that a company called Goalson <br />Development Corporation will be moving into the Bayside Business Park with a partial <br />grant from Waste Management. She noted that it is envisioned that companies located <br />in the eco-industrial park will use materials recycled from the Davis Street Transfer <br />Station. Mayor Young passed out samples of fiber in various stages of production made <br />by Goalson using recycled plastic soft drink bottles. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that she is a representative on the Environmental Quality <br />Commission for the East Bay Division of the League of California Cities. In a meeting <br />held recently, there was legislation introduced by a state legislator in Kern County to <br />prevent the transfer ofbio-solids, such as dredged material, from one county to another. <br />She commented that the Alameda County Waste Management Authority Board gave a <br />wonderful presentation on green building, and they also have great reference materials <br />available. <br />
