Resolution No. 2005-074, Resolution Authorizing Submission of a Request to the <br />Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for the Allocation of Fiscal Year <br />2005-2006 Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 PedestrianlBicycle Project <br />Funding (provides for curb ramps, sidewalk bulb-outs, in-pavement lighted crosswalk, <br />pedestrian safety signage, accessible pedestrian traffic signal equipment and sidewalk at <br />various locations throughout the City). (3054) <br /> <br />Public Comments on Item 8.K.: <br /> <br />Michael J. McGlynn, Jr., M.D., tenant at 433 Estudillo Avenue, addressed the City <br />Council, commenting that he sent an email to the Mayor and City Council requesting <br />that guidelines be developed before the project is approved. Dr. McGlynn expressed <br />concerns with the condition of building. He stated that he does not believe small <br />business owners will necessarily benefit from this type of conversion, and tenants with a <br />2-year lease or shorter will be forced out ofthe building. <br /> <br />Jeff Johnston, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, stating that he is a <br />commercial real estate broker representing a dentist and oral surgeon who are looking <br />for commercial office space to purchase. Mr. Johnston urged the Council's approval of <br />this item, noting that this type of conversion allows small business owners to take <br />advantage of commercial property appreciation. <br /> <br />End of Public Comments on Item 8.K. <br />
