Mr. Horn indicated that City staff have received
a couple of inquiries, and it seems to be an emerging trend.

Councilmember Stephens stated that he feels the 300-foot notification radius IS
adequate.

Mr. Jermanis recommended that the Council adopt the ordinance as proposed and
consider an increase in the notification radius when the general topic comes before the
Council in the next few months.

. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT
listed on the Agenda.

Ray Davis, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, requesting that the Council
consider installing a raised landscaped traffic circle at the intersection of Doolittle Drive and
Belvedere Avenue in the Marina Faire neighborhood. Mr. Davis distributed a letter and
photos to the Council of the existing traffic circle and commented that a new traffic circle
could: l) replace the current traffic circle, which is in poor condition; 2) serve as a memorial
to Officer Nels "Dan" Niemi; 3) be funded through DFSI funds. He stated that both the
Marina Faire Homeowners Association and San Leandro Police Officers Association support
the idea.
