REGWL~R:MEET 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag Bill Jardin led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. B. Roll Call PRESENT: Members Badger, Nardine, Santos, Starosciak, Stephens; Mayor Young ABSENT: Member Grant 2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS Mayor Young announced the following presentations were made: . A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Guerrero Mortuary on its 60th Anniversary. . A Commendation was presented to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission on its 35th Anniversary. . A contribution was made from the Mayor's Community Fund to the Boy Scouts of America Tres Ranchos District. . A contribution was made from the Mayor's Community Fund to San Leandro High School. . A contribution was made from the Mayor's Community Fund to the San Leandro High School Musical Theatre. . A Proclamation was issued declaring March 2006 as "American Red Cross Month" in San Leandro. . A Commendation was presented to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District on its 75th Anniversary. . A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Richard Benson for being honored as the Unionist of the Year by the Central Labor Council of Alameda County, AFL-CIO. . A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Obray Van Buren for being honored with the Political Action Award by the Central Labor Council of Alameda County, AFL-CIO. Mayor Young announced that Vice Mayor Badger had accepted on behalf of the City of San Leandro a Certificate of Recognition from the Lorenzo Creek Apartments in Castro Valley. Mayor Young in turn presented the Certificate of Recognition to Community Development Director Hanson Horn. A. Recognition of the Employee of the Month for the Month of April 2006, Danny Gutierrez, Engineering Inspector, Engineering and Transportation Department. Danny Gutierrez was present to receive his award.
