<br />MINUTES Page 4 <br />City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, and San Leandro Public Financing Authority <br />Joint Meeting-May 15, 2006 <br /> <br />Julian Polvorosa, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />possibility of extending the curb off Beatrice Street, going east onto 1-238, for easier access to <br />the onramp. <br /> <br />David Lunge, Lucchesi Art Studio, addressed the City Council regarding safety and parking <br />on MacArthur Boulevard. He commented that it is now unsafe to drop off children at the <br />dance studio. He stated that the original project plans had diagonal parking from Jake's Lion <br />Restaurant to Gene's Cleaners, but parallel parking spaces were built instead. <br /> <br />Bryan Lucchesi, Lucchesi Art Studio, addressed the City Council regarding his letter <br />written in response to a letter from Assistant City Manager Steve Hollister. He commented <br />that he has not yet received a response to his letter. <br /> <br />Diana Lucchesi Lunge, Lucchesi Art Studio, addressed the City Council, commenting that <br />an opening in the median on MacArthur Boulevard is necessary. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing concern about <br />the safety of the transportation of medical waste by Stericycle. He urged the City Council to <br />read a publication by the California Department of Health Services entitled, "Transforming <br />Medical Waste Disposal Practices to Protect Public Health: Worker Health and Safety and the <br />hnplementation of Large-Scale, Off-Site Steam Autoclaves." <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting regarding <br />the history of Caltrans and the minutes of a previous Board of Zoning Adjustments meeting. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Steve Hollister stated that staff will contact Mr. Wroebel to discuss <br />his concern with business licenses. <br /> <br />Regarding the MacArthur Streetscape Project, Mr. Hollister indicated that he will respond in <br />writing to Bryan Lucchesi's letter in which he requests removal of the median. Mr. Hollister <br />commented that removal of the median is a long process and that staff recommends the <br />project be completed and evaluated. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the <br />Mayor. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it <br />to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names <br />and addresses obtained. <br />
