EXHIBIT A <br />RATE COMPARISON PROCESS AT S, 10, AND 15 YEARS <br />Cities For Comparison <br />• Use published rates for San Leandro (City), Alameda, Hayward, Oakland, Castro <br />Valley Sanitary District, Oro Loma Sanitary District <br />Single-Family Refuse, Recycling and GreenWaste <br />• 100 percent coverage of customers receiving basic service using all rates (20,.32, G4, <br />96 gallon or comparable sizes) for San Leandro and other cities <br />• For each rate category calculate average monthly cost per gallon of service. <br />Example (32 gallon rate) <br />- Assume 32 gal/wk x 4.33 weeks/mo = 138.Sd gallons <br />- Assume 32 gallon rate = $16.35 <br />Then, average cast per gallon for 32 gallon service equals <br />$16.35 ; 138.56 gallons = $0.118/gallon <br />• Sum the cost per gallon for each of the rate codes and divide by the number of rate <br />codes <br />Example: <br />Assume: 20 gallon, monthly cost/gallon = $0.113/gallon <br />32 gallon, monthly costlgallon = $0.118/gallon <br />64 gallon, monthly cost/gallon = $0.108/gallon <br />96 gallon monthly cost/gallon = $0.109/gallon <br />$0.448/gallon <br />$0.448/gallon - 4 = $0.112/gallon <br />• Repeat the above for each of the other cities and compare $/gallon for each city <br />Example <br />San Leandro = <br />City A = <br />City B - <br />City C <br />City D <br />City E - <br />$0.112/gallon <br />$0.009/gallon <br />$0.118/gallon <br />$0.121/gallon <br />$0.007/gallon <br />$0.110/gallon <br />Al <br />
