<br />George Hills procedures include requirements for: <br /> <br />· Communicating with the City Risk Management Analyst and department <br />to develop evidence of incident facts supporting the liability determination <br />or mitigate the City's comparative negligence. <br /> <br />· Documenting the liability assessment analysis in a preliminary within <br />7 days of claim receipt and a full captioned report within 30 days of claim <br />receipt. <br /> <br />· Documenting liability assessment updates within 7 days of knowledge of <br />new evidence or change in circumstances and completing claims file <br />follow up a minimum of every 30 days while investigation is ongoing and <br />a minimum of every six months post denial. <br /> <br />· Working with the City Risk Management Analyst to timely reject claims <br />and dispute actions of late claim applications. <br /> <br />· Promptly issuing a reservation of rights letter when coverage IS <br />questionable. <br /> <br />We graded this component based upon the following criteria: <br /> <br />Grade <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />Criteria <br /> <br />Liability assessment activities are completed timely. <br /> <br />Liability assessment activities are completed untimely, but follow up will <br />resolve requirements without increased costs. <br />Liability assessment activities are delayed for prolonged period and <br />immediate action is needed to avoid increased costs. <br />Liability assessment activities will be difficult to complete due to <br />prolonged delays and information necessary to defend claim may not <br />be attainable resulting in increased costs. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />Two exceptions for George Hills are noted in Table II-7.
