(Calcon) to supply services and <br />materials for the installation of instrumentation and controls on Water Pollution Control <br />Division (WPCD) Capital Improvement Projects (CIF) that include Supervisory Control <br />and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />For many years, the WPCD has used Calcon to provide instrumentation, system control <br />and maintenance services, as well as for CIP work. For example, Calcon <br /> <br />. was named as the Instrumentation System Supplier (ISS) on the Aeration Upgrade <br />project. This very complex project, with many inter-related control issues, was <br />completed efficiently because a Calcon technician was involved from start to <br />finish. <br />. provided corrective inspections and technical services on the Belt Press <br />Replacement project with regard to wiring, controls, instrumentation and <br />SCADA. <br />. worked as a consultant on the Bermuda Pump Station Upgrade project, assisting <br />staff with the SCADA programming after construction was complete. <br /> <br />Installation of SCADA systems at the plant and remote pumping stations provide the <br />ability to monitor and control remote process equipment from a central location. SCADA <br />also provides historical data collection and trending which is essential for <br />troubleshooting. <br />
