1.0 Preliminary Design (Completed previously by Harris Design under separate contract) 2.0 DesiJm Development (30% Construction Documents) 2.01 Kick-Off Meeting Meet with City Staff to verify project schedule, review scope of construction, establish lines of communication, and verify the City submittal and plan review process. Walk the site with Staff to review and confirm the proposed improvements. Prepare written consultation minutes and distribute to City staff. 2.02 Horticultural Soils Testing and Analysis Collect samples of in-place topsoil. Submit to Soil and Plant Laboratory for testing and analysis of physical and chemical properties, and for recommendation of soil preparation materials and procedures. 2.03 Prepare Electronic Base Sheets Using the topographic survey as a base, prepare base sheets at 30 scale in AutoCAD format to define the proposed physical improvements. 2.04 Design Development Drawings Prepare the following plans to the 30% completion level: · Schematic layout plan · Schematic irrigation plan · Schematic drainage and grading plan 2.05 Preliminary Specifications An outline of the technical specification sections, quantity estimates, and the bid fonn will be prepared. Specifications will be in Greenbook 2003 (with 2004 / 2005 amendments) format. 2.06 Construction Cost Estimate An estimate of probable construction cost will be prepared. The cost estimate will be compared to the available funding. Should the cost estimate exceed available financial resources, appropriate project modifications such as phasing or additive alternate bid items will be reviewed with City Staff, and incorporated into the project design going forward. 2.07 Submittal- 30% PS&E Deliverables Up to three sets of hard-copy prints of plans, specifications, and estimates will be submitted to City Staff for review. At a minimum, this submittal shall include: · Title Sheet with list of all proposed drawings . Prototype sheet border . 100% completed topographic survey · Existing utilities as identified by the topographic survey · Proposed utility points of connection . Potential utility conflicts or tie-in (Areas for potholing) .
