<br />Alameda Countywide Homeless and Special Needs Housing Plan <br /> <br />69 <br /> <br />Table 3 presents an inventory ofHIV/AIDS-dedicated housing units in Alameda County. The <br />column entitled "family beds" quantifies the number of people that can be accommodated in the <br />"family units." These two numbers cannot be added together. AHIP has phone line attendants who answer inquiries, provide housing <br />search training to providers countywide, and produce a bimonthly update/newsletter for the <br />community. In FY 2003~2004, AHIP provided housing information and referral to 290 people <br />with HIV/AIDS and their family members in response to more than 275 phone calls.82 <br /> <br />· Housing Referral Services (HRS) funded by Ryan White Title 1. In the 2003-2004 fiscal year, <br />152 people received housing referral services at the AIDS Project of the East Bay.83 <br /> <br />· Emergency Housing Assistance (EHA) funded by Ryan White Title I, a tenant-based rental <br />assistance program for eviction prevention and move-in costs up to $750 per household per <br />year.84 In the 2003-2004 program year, 310 unduplicated clients were served in the EHA <br />. 85 <br />servIce category. <br /> <br />· Project Independence, funded by a HOPW A SPNS grant, prevents homelessness by providing <br />a partial rent subsidy to people living in permanent housing.
