MINUTES Page 12 City of San Leandro City COlUlcil, San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, and San Leandro Hillside Geologic Hazard Abatement District Joint Meeting-July 17, 2006 Councilmember Starosciak asked whether the City could piggyback on the County's purchase if the County did not go out to competitive bid. City Attorney Jayne Williams indicated that the City could enter into a sole source agreement if it is determined that there is a very limited number of vendors providing the product or service. Councilmember Starosciak requested documentation on the County's purchase. Councilmember Starosciak asked about the amount to be financed. Mr. Jermanis stated that the Council is being asked to authorize the purchase at a cost of $426,222, and any change will be brought to the Council. Councilmember Starosciak commented that the process should be more transparent. She stated that she feels there are many "hidden" details in the proposal, and the City is being pressured to make the purchase before July 31. Vice Mayor Grant expressed appreciation for Councilmember Starosciak's questions and stated that the Council should be provided information on the County's process for vendor selection. . Resolution No. 2006-095, Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of a Pierce Fire Apparatus Quantum Pumper Truck from a Sole Source Vendor Without Competitive Bidding by Piggybacking on Alameda County Fire Department's Purchase.
