Central Alameda County paratransit program participants will be able to obtain <br />needed same-day paratransit services, within 45 minutes of a trip request, when: <br /> <br />a. A pre-scheduled paratransit trip is missed by a program participant (Le., when <br />a medical or business appointment runs late); <br /> <br />b. An unplanned need for a medical, business or other important appointment <br />arises; or <br /> <br />c. A program participant has a spontaenous desire to go shopping, go out <br />for a social occasion, particpate in a recreational event, etc. <br /> <br />2. Central Alameda County paratransit program participants will also be able to <br />obtain needed same-day paratransit services when they need to reserve a trip in <br />one part of the day for later that same day (Le" when one wishes to make a trip <br />request in the morning for an afternnon medical or business appointment, a trip <br />to the airport, etc.; <br /> <br />3. This coordinated project will also provide P APCO/ ACTIA an alternative to the <br />"taxi-based" same day service model being proposed for Southern Alameda <br />County so that a comparison of service models can be made, and a <br />determination made by P APCO/ ACTIA regarding which model, or which <br />aspects of each model, will work best as a future county-wide "same-day" <br />paratransit service. <br /> <br />C.
