<br />MINUTES Page 13 <br />City or San L~a~lro E~~y Council and San L~an(h'?~edevclopl11cnt Agen~t_Loint Meeting- - December 4_:_~_~06___ <br /> <br />Mayor Young pointed out that the Mayor's salary is set by ordinance and could be <br />changcd by the Council at any time. She suggested that to capture the Spilit or <br />COllncilmember Stephens' motion, the Council could consider a smaller increase and/or <br />refer to the Rules Committee a policy (or future increases, such as tying the Council's <br />increase with ernployee salary increases. <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos commented that he felt it was important to establish a higher <br />salary for the Counci I. He stated that he felt the Council has been remiss in not keeping <br />pace with salary increases as general law cities arc allowed to do. <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos made a substitute motion to pass to print both ordinances. <br />Council member Starosciak seconded the motion. <br /> <br />. Ordinance No. 2006-019, an Ordinance Establishing Compensation of <br />Councilmembers (establishes monthly salary for a Couneilmember at $1,260 per <br />month effecti ve January 1, 2(07). (1315/14X5) <br /> <br />- Passed to Print <br /> <br />M/S/C Santos and Starosciak. Ayes: 4; Noes: 2 (Nardine and Stephens); <br />Abstain: 1 (Grant) <br /> <br />. Ordinance No. 2006-020, an Ordinance Establishing Compensation oCthc Mayor <br />(establishes base salary for the Mayor at $2,520 per month effective January 1, <br />2007).
