(ACI) (provides enhanced recycling services for residential and <br />commercial customers by allowing rate increases of 2(10 on July 1,2007 and 2% on July <br />1, 2008 and providing grant funds of $120,000 for rate year 2007 and $120,000 for ratc <br />year 2008). Cost: $240,000. Funding: Grant [rom the Alameda County Waste <br />Management Authority and Recycling Board. (1078) <br /> <br />Couneilmember Starosciak asked whether the grant funding for the enhanced service is <br />from an existing grant or a new grant. City Manager Jel111anis responded that funding is <br />Croln existing grants allocated Jl"om the Measure D funds approved by voters several <br />years ago to encourage recycling and reuse o[ materials. Councilmemher Staroseiak <br />inquired whether the grant funds are anticipated to continue beyond 2008. Mr. Jem1anis <br />indicated that the grant funds would be used for a two-year start up period, aftcr which <br />the nom1al rates would cover the ongoing costs of the service. <br /> <br />M/S/C Starosciak and Stephens.
