Resolution No. 2004-022, Resolution Designating Placement of Stop Signs, <br />Intersections, Title VI, Chapter I of the San Leandro Municipal Code, Williams Street <br />at Hays Street (provides for installation of stop signs eastbound and westhound on <br />Willian1s Street). (1022) <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos expressed concem about adding additional traffic impediments <br />on Williams Street. <br /> <br />Councilmember Badger expressed appreciation [or Couneilmemher Santos' concem. <br />He pointed out that there have been 1l..1ur accidents and several near-misses in a recent <br />three-month period at the intersection, and he has received many requests [rom District <br />1 residents urging the restoration of a 4-way stop at Hays and Williams. <br />Council member Badger noted that it is important for the Council to take this action for <br />safety reasons. <br /> <br />Councilmelnber Santos suggested that a traffic analysis of Williams Street from <br />Orchard to East 14111 Street could be perf0l111ed to detem1ine how to achieve proper <br />traffic flow. He indicated that the proposed action may actually exacerbate the traffic <br />problems on Williams Street. <br />
