PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Comments arc limited to 3 minutes per pcrson. When you address the City Council, you <br />should till out a speaker eard and submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be <br />detcnnined and an onlcial record of nanles and addresses obtained. The public is invited to <br />make comments on items of public interest NOT listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Hamid Perez, Davis West Neighborhood Group, addressed the City Council, expressing <br />appreciation to Police ChieC Joe Kitchen for the Police Department's actions in the area near <br />his mother's hOllle. Mr. Perez commented about air pollution from diesel trucks and <br />airplanes, issues with rental houses in his ncighborhood and the fence under Warden Avenue. <br />Mr. Perez commented on a problem with pets lei! unattended in a motor home. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Counei I, commenting regarding <br />Brown Act issues at public meetings and requesting that notices of all City meetings be <br />printed in the newspaper. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAG~~R AND CITY A TTORN~~Y REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis pointed out that the City Council cannot regulate diesel trucks or <br />airplanes. He invited Mr. Perez to contact Comlllunity Relations Representative Kathy <br />Omclas regarding issues with neighbors or anirnals, and the Police Department will look into <br />them. <br /> <br />City Attorney Williams commented that the City Council's procedures are govemed by the <br />Brown Act as well as the Council Members Handbook, which refers to the use of <br />parliamentary procedure in the conduct of meetings. Ms. Williams stated that the motion to <br />table is an appropriate parliamentary procedure which was utilized in the earlier matter. Ms. <br />Williams noted that all City meetings are noticed in accordance with the Brown Act. <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilmcmbers or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />rClllOvcd from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request, by filing a speaker card prior to the <br />calling of Item 7, Amendment of Consent Calendar, the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent <br />Calendar will be considered (I:.)r approval under one motion. <br />
