CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Council member Badger requested that tonight's meeting be adjoumed in memory of <br />Monsignor Michael James Lucid, who was a pastor at the Church of the Assumption. <br /> <br />Councilmember Narcline commented that her daughter has gone into premature labor and is <br />currently in the hospital. <br /> <br />Mayor Young stated that she received infonnation on the preliminary Title 5 pemlit for the <br />San Francisco Tntemational Airport. Public comments on the EJlZ will be taken through <br />March 17. She also announced the ABAG Spring General Assembly will be held on April 29 <br />at the Oakland MalTiott City Center. Councill1lemoers Badger and Santos indicated they <br />would attend. <br /> <br />Mayor Young mentioned that she received an invitation to attend a symposium for eclucators <br />on the subject of character education sponsored by Bishop O'Dowd High School and the <br />Principled Academy. She offered the registration to any rnember of the Council who would <br />like to attend. The symposium will be held on March 3 at Bishop O'Dowd. <br /> <br />Mayor Young stated that she received an email from the State Legislature regarding the new <br />chairs for the Assembly committees. She noted Assemblymember Corbett remains as chair of <br />the ,I udiciary Committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented on a cute letter she received from a 9 year-old girl whose hobbies <br />are "reading and not cleaning my room." <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced that Davis Street Family Resource Center received a grant from the <br />Cowell Foundation. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented that on rebruary 27, she has been invited to participate in the lead <br />role in the play, "Love Letters," at lTC. The event will be a fundraiser for the Davis Street <br />Family Resource Center. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced that KGG Community FOCllS will }lOld a public meeting on <br />Wednesday, February 18, 7:30 p.m. at the Main Library. To date, over 100 RSVPs have been <br />received [or the event. <br />
