PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comlnents are limited to 5 minutes per person, subject to adjustment by the <br />Mayor. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it <br />to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names <br />and addresses obtained. <br /> <br />^- Matter of Proposed Ordinance (Ordinance No. 2004-_) to Amend the City of San <br />Leandro Code Article 6, Regarding Fast Food Establishments, Restaurants, and Cafes <br />in the CD ConHnercial Downtown Zoning District; Article 3, to Redefine <br />"Restaurants/Cafes", "Restaurants, Past Food", and "Restaurants, Fast Food, Small <br />Scale"; and Minor Text Amendments to Articles 7, ] 6, and 17 to Make the Zoning <br />Code Consistent with Proposed Amendments for Articles 3 and 6 (establishes clearer <br />descriptions in the definitions for "Full-Service Restaurants", "Fast Food <br />Establishments", and "Cafes"). <br /> <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, City Manager <br />Jcrmanis gave an overview of the matter and introduced Planner Sally Barros. Ms. <br />Banos gave background on the item and described the proposed amendments to the <br />Zoning Code. <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos asked if any establishments have applied for a business license <br />within the last six months, Ms. Barros indicated that one application was made recently <br />for a juice bar, which would be categorized as a permitted use under the present <br />definitions. <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Heidi Finberg, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, addressed the City Council, <br />stating the Chamber's Civic Issues and Executive committees both unanimously SUppOlt <br />the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />LOll Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council, asking for the total <br />amount of the loans that have been made to restaurants [rom Redevelopment funds. <br /> <br />There being no other comments from the public, and witbout objection, the Public <br />Heming was closed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant thanked staff [or incorporating the coneems of the Council and <br />comnnll1ity in the ordinance amendments. <br /> <br />.
