Resolution Approving Renaming of North Dike Road and West Dike Road to Mulford Point Drive and Renaming of South Dike Road to Pescador Point Drive (authorizes changing of three street names at the Marina). (1242) CouncilmeInber Santos asked about the origin of the name change to Pescador Point Drive. Mayor Young noted "pescador" is Portuguese for "fisherman." Vice Mayor Glaze stated that he did not recall this item coming before the Marina Action COlnlnittee. He also thought he recalled that the City Council Handbook contained a policy on the subject of renaming of streets and that they were to be referred to a committee, possibly the Rules and Con1munications Committee. Mr. J em1anis stated that staff had researched old maps and discovered that the end of South Dike Road was once called Pescador Point. He agreed that it would be a good idea to refer the matter to the Rules and Communications Committee. By consensus, the City Council referred the matter to the Rules and Communications Committee. 8.D. Resolution No. 2004-078, Resolution Approving Changing the Name of a Portion of Marina Boulevard fron1 1-880 to Teagarden Street to Marina Boulevard Auto Mall (authorizes the name change and that staff shall work with Caltrans to implement the change).
