Resolution Approving Renaming of North Dike Road and West Dike Road to Mulford <br />Point Drive and Renaming of South Dike Road to Pescador Point Drive (authorizes <br />changing of three street names at the Marina). (1242) <br /> <br />CouncilmeInber Santos asked about the origin of the name change to Pescador Point <br />Drive. Mayor Young noted "pescador" is Portuguese for "fisherman." <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze stated that he did not recall this item coming before the Marina <br />Action COlnlnittee. He also thought he recalled that the City Council Handbook <br />contained a policy on the subject of renaming of streets and that they were to be referred <br />to a committee, possibly the Rules and Con1munications Committee. <br /> <br />Mr. J em1anis stated that staff had researched old maps and discovered that the end of <br />South Dike Road was once called Pescador Point. He agreed that it would be a good <br />idea to refer the matter to the Rules and Communications Committee. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council referred the matter to the Rules and <br />Communications Committee. <br /> <br />8.D. Resolution No. 2004-078, Resolution Approving Changing the Name of a Portion of <br />Marina Boulevard fron1 1-880 to Teagarden Street to Marina Boulevard Auto Mall <br />(authorizes the name change and that staff shall work with Caltrans to implement the <br />change).
