Mr. J ermanis confirmed that the item <br />will be placed on the next Liaison Committee agenda. <br /> <br />4. Facilities Committee Meeting of May 6, 2004. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant reported that the City of Burlingan1e has adopted an <br />ordinance regulating newspaper racks. <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze thanked his wife, Teresa, for her remarkable job in her support of hilTI and <br />the Council. He expressed appreciation for all the treats and "extra special stuff' she has <br />provided for this Council and for past Councils. <br /> <br />Mayor Young thanked Teresa for her trelnendous help to the Council and pointing out her <br />special talent as a tour guide. <br /> <br />Councihnember Nardine extended her apprecIatlon to Teresa Glaze for her outstanding <br />support to the Council both at Council Ineetings and conferences and for providing unique <br />and enjoyable experiences. <br /> <br />Councilmen1ber Grant commented that at a preVIOUS HRC meeting, the Community <br />Development Department staff gave a presentation on housing. She asked Community <br />Developn1ent Director Hanson Horn to convey the Committee's appreciation to CDBG <br />Manager LYIID Brown for all the follow-up information she has been providing to the <br />Comn1ittee. <br /> <br />Councihnember Grant wished Mayor Young a happy birthday. <br /> <br />Councilmen1ber Badger wished happy birthday to Mayor Young and thanked his fellow <br />Councilmelnbers for choosing him as their vice mayor. <br /> <br />Councilmember Stephens wished Mayor Young a happy birthday, thanked Teresa Glaze for <br />her support and complimented the citizens who were still in the audience. <br /> <br />Mayor Young comlnented on her eight-day trip to Israel for the 22nd Jerusalell1 Conference of <br />Mayors, entitled, "The Role of the Mayor in Times of Crisis or Disaster." She was one of <br />eight U.S. n1ayors invited by the Israeli Foreign Ministry. While there, the mayor of <br />Jerusalem arranged a birthday party for her and sang "Happy Birthday' to her in Hebrew. <br />Mayor Young will write up a report of her trip for the Council. <br />
