<br />l\IINUTES Page 5 <br />City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, and San Leandro Public Financing Authority <br />Joint Meeting-l\1ay 17,2004 <br /> <br />Marzan Woo, North Face Employee, addressed the City Council, stating that she is <br />representing The North Face in support of the Shuttle. She stated that the company <br />performed a recent Shuttle ridership survey. The survey results showed 30-35 <br />employees use the Shuttle daily, 25-30 ride once or twice per week, 15-20 ride once per <br />week and 15 ride at least once per n10nth. Ms. Woo urged the Council to continue the <br />Shuttle service. <br /> <br />Greg Mohr, Member of the TMO Staff, addressed the City Council, reading <br />COl11ments fron1 the managers of two businesses, Pacific Snapple North and Sears <br />Warehouse Outlet, that support the Shuttle. Mr. Mohr pointed to mel11bers of the <br />audience wearing buttons in support of the Shuttle, many of whom are Shuttle riders, <br />and asked them to stand. <br /> <br />Carol Fleming, 884 Davis Street, addressed the City Council in suppOli of the Shuttle, <br />stating she rides the Shuttle from her home in San Leandro to BART to her job in San <br />Francisco. <br /> <br />Virginia Collins, 321 West Estudillo, addressed the City Council in support of the <br />Shuttle. She stated that she is an employee of Stewart Superior and rides the Shuttle to <br />work. Ms. Collins urged the Council to keep the Shuttle running and submitted a list of <br />almost 100 riders who signed a petition in support of the Shuttle. <br /> <br />Donna Lack, 2342 Longview Drive, addressed the City Council, stating she o\vned a <br />business in San Leandro until con1petition and the cost of doing business became too <br />high. Ms. Lack stated her opposition to the Shuttle and the BID. <br /> <br />Sheri 'VeIls, 1475-167th Avenue, addressed the City Council, stating she is a new rider <br />and supports the Shuttle. Ms. Wells stated that she can rely on the LINKS Shuttle to get <br />her to work on time, but has not been able to rely on AC Transit. <br /> <br />Anita Comelo, 2048 Juneau Street, spoke on behalf of her parents who are senior <br />citizens and use the Shuttle. She spoke in support of retaining the Shuttle. <br /> <br />Diana Souza, Chamber of Commerce Board Member, addressed the City Council, <br />stating she is one of the Board Members who voted against the BID. Ms. Souza stated <br />that there has been no information on the number of employees within the BID that <br />utilize the Shuttle and that free transportation is not the responsibility of businesses to <br />provide. <br /> <br />William Roderick, 298 Parrott Street, addressed the City Council in support of the <br />Shuttle and noted the benefits to both employees and businesses. <br /> <br />Greg Sanborn, J. Orr Moulding, addressed the City Council, stating that while he <br />agrees with the mission of the BID, he is concerned that larger businesses are benefiting <br />at the expense of smaller businesses. He stated that his business may relocate to <br />
