Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />City Attorney Jayne Williams reported that the City Council met in closed session <br />earlier this evening to discuss two litigation items. <br /> <br />Ms. Willianls reported that the City Council took action regarding Persson v. City of <br />San Leandro, which involves a settlement in the total amount of $42,000 with the City <br />contributing $21,000. The vote was 7-0. <br /> <br />Ms. Willianls also reported that action was taken regarding Simpson and Coker v. City <br />of San Leandro, with the City Council approving a settlement of up to $20,000. The <br />vote was 7-0. <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. RepOlis on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced that the City Council meeting on July 6, 2004 was videotaped <br />and will be rebroadcast on Chamlel15 twice a day at 12:00 noon and 7:00 p.nl. <br /> <br />Councilmember Nardine gave an update on the West Nile Virus infestation. She <br />reported that the virus has spread over the Tehachapi Mountains to the Fresno area. <br />There have been 20 human cases reported and seven horses have died. Councilmember <br />N ardine noted that this is a serious health issue, and residents should contact their <br />legislators to urge the Governor not to cut funding for mosquito abatement. <br />
