Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />Ms. Williams reported that the Redevelopnlent Agency met in Closed Session with the <br />Executive Director as its negotiator to discuss the potential acquisition of property at <br />1595 Washington Avenue. Ms. Williams reported that following the Closed Session, <br />staff recOlnmends the adoption of the resolution authorizing the acquisition of 1595 <br />Washington Avenue. <br /> <br />. Resolution No. 2004-018 RDA, Resolution of the Redevelopment Agency of the <br />City of San Leandro Authorizing Acquisition of 1595 Washington Avenue (APN: <br />075-0005-011-01) for an Amount Not to Exceed $470,000 (authorizes purchase of <br />1595 Washington Avenue for an amount not to exceed $470,000). Funding: 2002 <br />Plaza Tax Allocation Bonds. (1034/1485) <br /> <br />M/S/C Stephens and Glaze. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovenlmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilnlenlber N ardine reported that there have been 11 deaths in California attributed <br />to the West Nile Virus. She reported over 500 inspection requests this year, up from 53 <br />last year. Councilmember Nardine noted that the real impact of the West Nile Virus <br />will be felt next year. <br /> <br />Councilmember Nardine reported that the LA VWMA project has been progressing <br />without complaints or concenlS. <br /> <br />Mayor Young noted that Councilmenlbers Glaze and Nardine will be attending the <br />League of California Cities Annual Conference in Long Beach later this month. <br /> <br />B. Reports on City Council COlnnlittees <br /> <br />1. Finance Committee Meeting of July 15, 2004. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />2. Rules and Communications Committee Meeting of July 21, 2004. Accepted as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />Councilnlember Grant asked for clarification regarding the suggestion that board <br />and commission applicants list any outstanding violations on their applications. <br />Mayor Young noted that there have been issues in the past when individuals who <br />had outstanding violations of City ordinances had been appointed to commission <br />seats. She stated that a question will be added to the application form to gather <br />this information. <br />
