Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />The City Attorney reported that the City Council met in Closed Session this evening <br />regarding the case of Bullock, et at v. City of San Leandro and the East Bay Regional <br />Parks District. The City Council approved the recommendation for settlement of the <br />case by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 noes, 1 absent (Glaze). The Council authorized the City <br />Attorney to settle the matter on behalf of the City of San Leandro in the amount of <br />$65,000 and to contribute towards the cost of the mediator which is approximately <br />$2,000. <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported that, as a nlember of the Board of the Bay Area Air Quality <br />Management District (BAAQMD), she has received word that the application for the <br />crematorium on Timothy Drive has been withdrawn with the agreement that BAAQMD <br />will transfer the application fees to a new application if one is filed. Mayor Young <br />noted that the Council will still hold the public hearing on October 18 to consider an <br />extension of the 45-day moratorium and amendments to the Zoning Code. <br /> <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. Airport Committee Meeting of September 2, 2004. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Public Comments: <br /> <br />John Manuel, 13122 Neptune Drive, addressed the City Council, commenting <br />on the consideration of the proposal by the Port of Oakland for the installation of <br />an additional instrument landing system at the Oakland Airport and its effects of <br />potential additional air traffic on the residents of West San Leandro. <br /> <br />Francois Gallo, President of NAACSL, addressed the City Council, <br />conlmenting on the proposed additional instrument landing system and expressing <br />concenl that the additional ILS would enable Southwest and Jet Blue to operate on <br />the North Field. <br />
