<br />MINUTES Page 9 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-October 4, 2004 <br /> <br />Councihnen1ber Grant reminded the Council of the appeal by Mark Landes which the Council <br />tabled at the February 2, 2004 meeting. She asked the Council to consider removing the item <br />fron1 the table. Assistant City Attorney Whitnell indicated that both the n10tion to take the <br />n1atter off the table and the matter of consideration of the appeal must be listed on a future <br />agenda. Councilmember Glaze recalled that the matter was tabled due primarily to questions <br />regarding ownership of the property. Mr. Whitnell informed the Council that he was notified <br />by Planning staff today that the appellant has provided staff with information which <br />establishes ownership of the property. <br /> <br />There was consensus of the Council to direct the City Manager to place a motion to consider <br />relnoving the matter of the appeal by Mark Landes from the table. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced that Wal-Mart will hold a grand reopening celebration on October <br />5, and country and westen1 radio station 95.7 The Bear will have an autograph signing with <br />singer Lee Ann Womack. Mayor Young noted that the Wal-Mart parking lot will likely begin <br />filling up before 8:00 a.m. She invited interested Councilmembers to join her at 4:30 p.m. to <br />appear on the radio show to give some information on San Leandro. Mayor Young will <br />present a melnento of San Leandro to Ms. Womack. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented on the "soft" opening of Kohl's Department Store early on Sunday <br />n10ming. The official opening will be on Thursday, October 7. <br /> <br />13.
