<br />MINUTES Page 16 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-December 6, 2004 <br /> <br />Councihne111ber Nardine asked if the City Manager could look into installing autoll1atic <br />electric defibrillators (AEDs) in City facilities. She commented that her mother was featured <br />in a San Leandro Tilnes article 011 pet therapy. Councilmember Nardine asked that the <br />n1eeting be adjoun1ed in memory of Art DeLaTorre, who was killed in an auto/pedestrian <br />accident on Floresta Boulevard and was a long-tilne resident of Floresta. <br /> <br />Councilnlenlber Grant cOlnmented on the recent National League of Cities (NLC) conference <br />she attended. She also con1illented on efficient street paving work she observed on a recent <br />visit to Chicago, noting that in the past it took five months to pave seven or eight streets in <br />District 2. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Badger commented that he also attended the NLC conference in Indianapolis and <br />brought back infon11ation on illegal dunlping and public safety Inonmnents. He asked the <br />City Clerk to copy and distribute the information to the Council and City Manager. Vice <br />Mayor Badger c0111111ented on the Reverse 911 Systeln, a $30,000 notification system that can <br />be used to perfonn blanket notification of targeted areas. Vice Mayor Glaze noted that grant <br />funds are available for the Reverse 911 Systeln. <br /> <br />Vice Badger requested that tonight's n1eeting be adjourned in n1en10ry of Leslie Marques, a <br />10ng-tin1e San Leandro resident and past president of the Brotherhood of St. Anthony. <br /> <br />13.
