REGULAR MEETING 7:00 PM-City Council Chambers 1. CALL TO ORDER A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag San Leandro J-I igh School Football Coach Dan Calcagno led the Pledge or Allegiance. B. Roll Call PRESENT: Members Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; Mayor Young ABSENT: None. 2. PRESENT A TIONS/RECOGNITIONS Mayor Y oLlng annoLlnced the following proclamations and awards were presented since the January 6,2003 City Council meeting: . A commendation was presented to Betty L. Moose for her 21 years of service as a member of the San Lorenzo Unified School District Board of Education. . A proclamation was presented to Rohert Tucknott for his service as President of the San Leandro Chamher or Commerce from April 2001 through December 2002 and proclaiming January 16,2003 as "Robert Tucknott Day". . A commendation was presented to Thomas Himmelberg upon his retirement as Superintendent oCthe San Leandro Unified School District. . The Mayor and City Council contributed $300.00 from the Mayor's Community Fund to San Leandro l-ligh School teacher Yvonne White for the "Botball" program. A. Recot,"lition or the Employee of the Month for the Month of Fehruary 2003, Don O'Connor, Street Maintenance Worker II, Public Works Department. Don O'Connor was present to receive his award. B. Presentation of Commendation to Coach Dan Calcagno and the San Leandro High School Pirates football team for their 2002 championship season. San Leandro High School Pirates Football Coach Dan Calcagno and several players from the 2002 Hayward Area Athletic League championship team were present to receive the cOlnmendation. Mayor Young noted Pirates' quarterhack Dennis Dixon was named to Parade Magazine '5 AIl-Amelica High School Football Team, and his name was listed in their January 26, 2003 edition. C. Presentation by Cassandra Phelps, President of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, on the goals and objectives orthe Chamber for 2003.
