Mr. <br />Manuel stated the community was not included in the project's approval process prior to <br />its eleventh hour approval, and he expressed hope this area of the outreach process will be <br />improved in the future. He stressed the importance of Eden Road to the local residents <br />and expressed interest in having a target date established and a public review and <br />discussion. lIe suggested the diversion of traffic from Davis Street to 98lh A venue to <br />relieve congestion and mentioned several projects which could be funded through the tax <br />increment. <br /> <br />Wafaa Aborashed, Davis West Nei2:hborhood Group, echoed some of the sentiments <br />expressed by Mr. Manuel and stated she feels finally someone is listening to the residents. <br />Ms. Aborashed stated the RAC docs not represent the West San Leandro homeowners' <br />associations, and they do not receive the RAC's reports or proposals. She expressed <br />uncel1ainty as to whether the Council understood and adopted the West San Leandro <br />Advisory Committee's recOlnmendations. Ms. Aborashed commented on the Town Hall <br />Meeting, stating it was a great event and the presentations were appreciated, but suggested <br />at future meetings the attendees be allowed more opportunity to ask questions and express <br />Opll110ns. <br /> <br />B. Matter of a Residential Parking Permit Program. <br /> <br />Engineering and Transportation Director Uehe Udemezue gave a short presentation, <br />giving background on the issue and the need for the program. Councilmembers asked <br />clari fying questions and provided comments and suggestions to staff. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 LaVeme Drive, addressed the City Council, suggesting posting <br />2-hour parking si.b'llS instead of pennit parking. <br /> <br />Da.-Iene Evans, 361 Bristol Bouleva."d, addressed the City Council, commenting on the <br />noise from cars and vendor earts emanating lI"om Durant Square. Ms. Evans stated she <br />has reported the problem to police with no resolution and expressed support [or the permit <br />parking program. <br /> <br />.
