Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; Mayor Young. <br /> <br />ABSENT: None. <br /> <br />2. PRESENT A TIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced a sign language interpreter was present on behalf ofDCARA. <br /> <br />^- Commendation for Deaf Counseling, Advocacy and Referral Agency (DCARA) on its <br />401h A . <br />. nmversary. <br /> <br />Rob Roth of DCARA was present to receive the commendation. Mr. Roth announced it <br />was a "double" anniversary for DCARA as this is also DCARA's 20th anniversary in San <br />Leandro. <br /> <br />Mayor Young noted the strides and improvements the City is making in the areas of deaf <br />outreach and education. <br /> <br />B. Presentation of Commendation to Janet Plankenhom, Recreation and Parks Commission. <br /> <br />District 6 Councilmember Santos presented a resolution to .Janet Plankenhom 111 <br />appreciation oCher years of service on the Recreation and Parks Commission. <br /> <br />C. Presentation of Commendation to Virginia Boepple, lfuman Services Commission. <br /> <br />Dishiet 3 Councill11ember Nardine presented a resolution to Virginia Boepple 111 <br />appreciation of her years of service on the Human Services Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the fl)lIowing presentations were made since the last City Council <br />meeting: <br />. The Mayor and Council contributed $800 [ron1 the Mayor's Community Fund to the San <br />Leandro Scholarship Foundation for a 2003 special SLHS scholarship. <br />. The Mayor and Council contributed $500 from the Mayor's Community Fund to the <br />Tides Center/Lavender Seniors. <br />
